I have just finished writing the last note of my final commissioned work of 2021. It’s a short new work for Digital Orchestra and commissioned by Drake Music Scotland. I won’t give too much away yet but the event Echoes, curated by composer Ben Lunn will be at the Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh on Saturday 12th February 2022.
I find myself wondering if it will be the first performance that I attend in person since the pandemic began? It’s so hard to know at this point ….. we will just have to wait and see.
There has been a lot of this “wait and see” for many months and perhaps a few more months to come. Whatever happens we will all soldier onwards.
The last couple of weeks have been full of online rehearsals with Sonic Bothy for a new commission Public Inconvenience, a new work highlighting the public loo and some important issues. I’ll go into more detail in the next post in January. What an unusual subject and creative process! I never cease to marvel how varied this composer lark can be!
